Romantic Things to Do in Spring

Updated on February 22, 2015

The cold lifeless days of winter give way to warmer more vibrant days. You and your partner may feel anxious to get outdoors for romance after a long winter of being cooped up. Although a cruise or other travels around the world can be fun, most people are on a budget. There are plenty of things that you and your loved one can do without leaving town and without breaking the bank.

Picnic

Picnicking always tops the list when it comes to romance. It is a great way to have one on one time with your special someone and can be done practically anywhere. Find a local park, campground, or even your own backyard. Although picnics are generally planned during the day, perhaps plan one at night especially during a full moon.

The food to pack for a romantic picnic should be light and easy. Perhaps some fresh fruit and vegetables or even some kabobs would be a good choice. Pick foods that aren't too messy. What would a picnic be without a little spirit? Bring along a little champagne or wine to celebrate or renew the spring romance. If you aren't much of a drinker, you could always use sparkling grape juice.

Camping

Camping is the perfect outdoor get away. There is nothing better than alone time by a campfire. Roast some hot dogs, make s’mores, or just snuggle by the fire. Go hiking during the day. Have passionate nights under the stars. A weekend camping get-away is a great way to spice up any relationship.

Star Gazing

Speaking of a night under the stars, there is a simple way to enjoy each other company without costing you a dime. Star gazing can be fun with a little conversation. You can take it a step further by purchasing a star in your lover's name then spend the night looking for it. One place you can buy a star is Starnamer.net. Packages start at $19.95 but the memories will become priceless.

Love Trail

This is a cute way to have some fun this spring. It takes some planning though. Pick a nature trail and place various items, notes, or clues for your beloved to find along the way. You could also plan a scavenger hunt instead. First one to spot everything on the list wins a massage or other romantic evening idea. Regardless, both people will win because that means another romantic rendezvous.

Outdoor Dancing

Outdoor dancing can make for a very romantic night. All you need is a few outdoor candles, music, wine, and your dancing shoes. Dancing under the stars to candlelight and soft music can leave a lasting impression on your loved one. It's a great way to have intimate conversations without interruptions; just make sure you both turn off cell phones and anything else that would interrupt your romantic evening.

Go Bicycling

What better way to get in shape than with your favorite person? Plan a bike ride with each other. Whether it is just in the neighborhood or a planned trip to a secluded location, it is a great way to spend quality time with each other. Some places have specific bike trails and this is wonderful safe location without too many distractions.

Although all of these suggestions have the makings of a great time that will be remembered for a lifetime, it is good to remember that being creative is one of the best romance tools you can have. The more unique the idea, it will have more of an impact on your loved one and will make your friends envy your relationship.
